How could I use Australian Business Atlas?
Atlas has been used by Government and industry clients for a diverse range of projects but in each case, clients have needed a tool to map and analyse a defined geographic area for a number of different purposes including planning for economic development and employment growth, land use planning, strategy development and project management.
Can the Australian Business Atlas be used for other purposes apart from mapping of businesses?
Yes. Bugseye Atlas is now being used by clients for a mutitude of purposes such as mapping and analysing demographic make up of a given area, results and feedback of community consultation and complaints and mapping and monitoring of issues arising from major projects.
How much does the Australian Business Atlas cost?
The cost depends on the application and the amount of data involved. A typical five user license can be deployed at an initial set up cost of $17,500 including 12 months service, support and software upgrades and subsequent annual license fee of $10,000. However, it can be tailored to meet a wide range of needs and budgets.
The History
Director Steve Harvey created the Australian Business Atlas after working with a local Council in 2004 on a business research project.
The client was seeking to gain a better understanding of their business base to plan for employment growth and to inform land use decisions within the area. However, they didn't have any tools to map or analyse the businesses in the area.
As a result of this project, Steve developed a software program to map the Council's database of local businesses. Once completed, Steve realised the value of the mapping software to other applications and embarked on a course to further develop and refine the Australian Business Atlas.
